Darrell J. Foster

Mr. Darrell J. Foster, age 88 years, of Lynn died Thursday Oct. 15, at Union Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Betty J. (Wilson) Foster with whom he shared 65 years of Marriage Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Howard and Helen (MacLeod) Foster. He attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1939. Mr. Foster served in the U. S. Army Air Force during WW II. He was employed at the General Electric West Lynn Works as an Inspector for 41 years until he retired in 1982. He was a member and former Deacon of the Washington Street Baptist Church. Mr. Foster was an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan. He enjoyed travelling, tinkering with his cars, and most of all spending time with his family. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Linda (Foster) and her husband Wayne Merrill of Derry, NH, a daughter-in-law Christine Senftleben of Saugus, four grandchildren Lauren Hudson of Portsmouth, NH, Alison Foster of Melrose, Ryan Chaffee of Chester, NH, Stephanie Foster of Waltham, one great granddaughter Lylah Chaffee of Chester, NH, and several nieces and nephews. He was also father of the late Steven Foster. Service Details: Funeral services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Monday at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
