Darrell L. Lane

LYNN - Darrell L. Lane, age 56, of Lynn, passed away on June 4, 2019 at Salem Hospital after a long illness. Darrell was born in Norfolk, VA the son of the late John and Ina (Brown) Howard. He was raised in Lynn and attended Lynn Public Schools. He worked at Christian Book Distributors for many years. Darrell is survived by 5 children, son, Darrell Lane, Jr. of Lynn, daughter, Amanda Lane and his grandchildren, Isabella and Jeremiah of Middletown, CT, son, Derek Lane of Lynn, daughter, Jasmine Campagna and son, Jaleil Campagna, both of Minnesota. He also survived by his siblings, Pamela Howard of Springfield, John Howard and Ina Howard-Hogan both of Lynn. He is predeceased by Sharon Lane and Karen Boyd both of Lynn. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Darrell was a coach for West Lynn Pop Warner Football, West Lynn Little League and Lynn Shore Little League. He was a member of the Massachusetts Baseball Umpire Association (MBUA). For over 10 years, he umpired many Lynn and North Shore Area Little League and Men’s softball games. In addition, he was a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) and officiated Lynn youth basketball games. He played softball, enjoyed crosswords, playing cards and watching sports with family and friends. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, especially his grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. I remember way back in junior high school when we met the Howard family Karen Sharon Darrell Lane he said his name was Didley Laneput a smile on my face from day one you will be sadly missed my friend rest in peace😂
