

David proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he began a career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked as a clerk until his retirement. After retiring from the post office, David continued working part-time at Cal’s News Stand in downtown Lynn, where he became a familiar and friendly face to many.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Murphy, to whom he was married for 53 years. Nancy passed away in 2023. Their love and devotion to one another remained an important part of David's life.
David will be deeply missed by his son, Connor Murphy, and daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn Murphy, along with his cherished grandchildren, Aria and Greyson who brought great joy to his life. He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory and the love he gave them for generations to come.
He also leaves behind his sister, Donna Lang, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Joe Lang.
Though David may not have been one for a lot of fuss, those who knew and loved him will remember the stories, the memories, and the unmistakable character that made him who he was. David will be remembered for his service to his country, his years of dedicated work, his devotion to his family, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
May he rest peacefully, reunited with Nancy, and forever held in the hearts of his family.
