Deanna Joan Rizzo

Born in Lynn, on May 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Cantarano and Theresa (Mostacci). Deanna was the beloved wife of the late Gioacchino “Jack” Rizzo, married for over 49 years. She was the cherished mother of Gia Leach and her husband Russell of Lynnfield, Dante’ Rizzo and his fiancé Erica D’Ambrosio of Winchester, Adriana Wheeler and her husband Allan of Reading. The loving grandmother “Noni” of Dario and Gianna Leach and Matteo, Massimo and Luca Wheeler. Dear sister of Jeanine Brown and the late Robert Cantarano. She adored her in-laws Lorraine Rizzo, Anna Sweeney, Stanley “Junie” Rizzo and the late Alfonso “Sonny” Rizzo. She was a treasured friend and a fond aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Deanna was a graduate of Lynn English High School class of 1959 and Burdett School in Lynn. She worked as an office manager for the dental office of Dr. Myron Nevins and Dr. Gerald Kramer in Swampscott (now The Perico Group) for several years before she was married.

Deanna was devoted to her family, her dear friends, and especially her children. Her two homes were always open and filled with love and her wonderful cooking. Holidays or ordinary Sundays were feasts. Deanna loved reading, music, English TV shows, and watching NFL football on Sundays. She will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, kind heart, and tireless energy spent loving those who were lucky enough to be part of her life.

The wake will be at the Cuffe-McGinn funeral home 157 Maple St. Lynn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 1pm-5pm on Sunday afternoon November 21st. Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn funeral home on Monday November 22nd at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass at our Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove St. Lynnfield at 11am. Interment at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
