LYNN—Doris Matilda “Dorsie” Linnane, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Kaplan House in Danvers following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Chelsea, MA on June 16, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Doris Skane. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert G. Linnane, whom she met and wed within three weeks of their meeting. Together, they created a big, beautiful family who will be forever grateful for their loving upbringing.

Doris lived her life as a homemaker who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her world, but she was known as “Ma” to not only her children, but also their friends and friends of the family. To those who knew her, Doris was known for her love for laughter and her contagious smile that she wore at all times. When she wasn’t devoting her time to her loving family, Doris spent her time shopping and giving meaningful gifts to her friends and family. She could often be found spending her late night hours knitting blankets for her coming grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her dear children, Ronald Linnane and his wife Tammy, Karen Graciale, Timothy Linnane, Kathleen Allen and her husband Billy, twins, John and James Linnane, Patricia Linnane and Steven Parsons, Teresa Taylor and her husband Warren III, Michael Linnane, Tammy Linnane, Pam Linnane, also Robin Linnane, and Irene Reardon, as well as her late son Robert M. Linnane, and baby Donald Linnane; her siblings, Bea Thistle and her late husband John, Marilyn Crain and her husband Ronald, and John Skane and his late wife Margaret, and Carol Skane, along with her 24 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Doris was a sister to the late Edward Skane and his wife Adina, Robert Skane and his wife Rose Marie, George Skane, Brenda Todd and Joan Skane.
