Doris Lorraine Smith

Doris L. (Leone) Smith, 86 of Lynn passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Salem Hospital. She was born in Lynn, the daughter of the late George and Doris Vena (Corson) Leone. She worked as a secretary for many years until the birth of her first child in 1964 when she became a full-time mother and homemaker. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother who dedicated her life to raising her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life where she enjoyed listening to their stories and spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George W. Smith of Lynn, her son, Derrick G. Smith and his wife, Melanie of Bolton, her daughter, Kimberly A. Riley and her husband, Kevin of Tyngsboro, and her sister, Janice Sjoberg of Lynnfield. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jacob B. Smith and Morgan D. Smith, both of Bolton. In addition, she is survived by her niece, Julie Sjoberg of Lynnfield, her nephew, Eric Sjoberg and his wife, Catherine and their children, Maddie and Calvin, all of Danville, CA., and her niece, Valerie Finnie and her husband, Christopher and their children, Joseph, Nicholas and Carl, all of Saugus. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian M. Smith and her siblings, Joseph, Peter and Shirley Leone.

Visiting hours will be held in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 4-8 PM. A funeral Mass will be held in Holy Family Church, 21 Bessom St. Lynn on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:30 AM with interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
