

Born in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Willie June (Henson) Cunningham. She graduated from Knoxville High School. Dorothy moved to Lynn in 1946 and has lived in Nahant since 1978.
She worked at Eastern Bank in Lynn for many years, and also worked for Weight Watchers and at the Lynn Polls.She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for many years and was a member of the Lynn Womens Police Auxiliary.
Dorothy was the mother of Richard J. Comito and his wife Carrie of Nahant, Robert J. Comito and his wife Pamela of Lynn, Randel G. Comito and his wife Sia of Lynn, and Norene Gachignard of Salem. She also leaves a sister Catherine LaForce of Topeka, Kansas, five grandchildren Richard J. Comito, Jr., Robert J. Comito, Jr., Shawn Comito, Janine Comito, and Molly Gachignard, a great-grandson Joshua Comito, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 AM from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in Ste. Anne’s Church, Salem at 10 AM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
