

Born on March 31, 1931 in Lynn to the late David and Florence Carragher. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School, Class of 1949. A lifelong resident of Lynn, communicant of St. Mary’s Church and member of the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians, Division 10. Dorothy worked for Zimman’s, and General Electric as a secretary for five engineers.
Dottie is survived by her children Thomas Mannion and his wife Michelle, James Mannion and his wife Grace, Sean Mannion and his wife Victoria and Mary Eileen Jules and her partner Brian Bertwell; her grandchildren Thomas Mannion, Tamara Mardres, Timothy Mannion, Joseph Mannion, Patrick Mannion, Caitlin Mannion, Charlie Jules and Erin Lumpinski and her husband Evan; and her great-grandchildren Aiden and Kaylie, her brother John Carragher and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Dottie is predeceased by her sisters Eileen Rodican and Corrine Scally and her son-in-law Charlie Jules.
Dottie enjoyed time with her family and friends. She loved going out to lunch and dinner. She loved a glass of wine or maybe two. Once she had her spirits, she would fill the room with her infectious and contagious laugh. Soon everyone would be filled with laughter and happiness. Her smile would light up any darkness.
In Dottie’s final years, she enjoyed her time and care in the Lynn Home for Elderly Persons. She really enjoyed playing Bingo. Her family would like to thank them for their loving attention to her needs. They would also like to especially thank Sue and Chelsea.
Dottie’s visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Church, 8 South Common Street, Lynn. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lynn Home for Elderly Persons, 1 Atlantic Terrace, Lynn, MA 01902.
