LYNN – Edward Francis Cronin, Jr., 72, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018. He was the devoted husband of Pamela (Paganis) Cronin with whom he shared 14 years of marriage and the late Linda (DeMarco) Cronin with whom he shared 4 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, Ed was the beloved son of the late Edward and Anna (Carton) Cronin.
Ed was the loving step-father of Jill Dodge of Florida; the dear brother of Joanne Dodge of Lynn and her late husband, Paul, Robert Cronin and his wife, Patricia of Nahant, Thomas Cronin and his wife, Karen of Lynn and Ann Marie Schermerhorn and her husband, Marshall of Boxford; the best friend of Bob Dixon of Saugus. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ed graduated from Lynn Classical High School with the Class of ’64 and held a degree in Accounting from Burdett College. He retired in 2004 after having worked as an accountant for the Lynn Housing Authority for over 35 years. He then worked part-time at the Lynn Municipal Employees Credit Union in City Hall. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved country music and was especially a big fan of Elvis Presley. He was an avid sports fan of Boston teams and enjoyed tracing his family’s genealogy and sharing it with them.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 23rd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn. A Celebration of Edward’s Life will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
