

Mr. Edward F. Keaney, Jr., 78, of Lynn passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2019 at home with his loving family at his side. He is the husband of the late Donna L. (Miller) Keaney with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Edward was born May 30, 1941 in Lynn. He is the son of the late Edward F. and Mary (Petros) Keaney. He was a resident of Lynn for most of his life. He and Donna also lived in Swampscott. He attended Lynn Classical High School.
He was the Vice President of the Laborers Union 290 and 22 for 50 years until his retirement in 2006. After retiring he worked part time for the Lynn VNA.
Edward enjoyed spending time with his family, he especially enjoyed following his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. He was an active communicant at St. Pius V Church. He and his brother Robert served as President of the Lynn sports club at GLSS. Ed truly loved sports.
He is survived by his daughter Darcey Barnard and her husband David of Lynn, his son Daniel Benson and his wife Jamie of Peabody, his mother-in-law Claire Bissell of Lynn, His brother Robert Keaney of Swampscott, his sister Karen Robidoux of Lynn. His cherished grandchildren Chelsie, Trevor and Jacqueline Benson, Paige and David Barnard. He is also survived by one great grandchild Jayden Young. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his loving wife Donna and his parents, Edward is predeceased by his daughter Lee Ann Benson and his brother Dennis Keaney.
Edward’s visiting hours will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 4-7 PM. His Funeral will be from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Edward’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Pius V Church, Maple St. Lynn at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited.
