It has been many years since I had seen Ed.  We had a special relationship . He was like a father to me and he was my protector .  I knew Ed between 1996-1998 , we went to a private school in allenwood pennsylvania . Some may say it was the school of hard knocks . But it doesn’t matter . I love you Eddie and I’m sorry we didn’t get to connect later on in life .  You were good to me and made my life allot better.  I miss you old man and I love you . Rest In Peace .love Tommy 

Oh Ed. 

The amount of joy you brought to my days as Director of Activities / Music Therapist at Life Care we’re innumerable. 

You were always up for a belly laugh, came & found me whenever you pin needed re-pinning, sat & told me stories of your wildest adventures, and filled me in on the latest center gossip. 

You were a stickler for fairness & one hell of a singer, wowing us all on karaoke days. That lush baritone ... 

In Music Therapy, you were always the first to howl along with me & make crazy sounds, bringing the other residents to hysterics. We made up so many songs & spent many an afternoon by the piano, laughing ‘till we cried. ‘Sixteen Tons’ will always be YOUR song. 

You gave me life & love advice, set me straight, shared the love, were brutally honest when the craft was dumb, and always took good care of your friends. 

I always enjoyed hearing how happy you were from your family members, and witnessing your happiness first hand, each day. 

Sometimes you’d just sit outside my office & fall asleep in your chair for an hour & I would wake you for lunch & we’d both laugh. “How long was I sleeping?” 

I’m laughing now as I write this & am so grateful that I got to know you as I have. 

Rest well you big-hearted wild one

 Gaeta...

Gaeta was born in the wrong Century.

He was more suited to
the life of a Gladiator in the Coliseum.

He was at times, a Bull in a china shoppe...and as graceful as a dancer,
when he shadow-boxed.

Gaeta had a bullet-fast One-Two punch.

His daily uniform was
a Nautica T,  sweats, shades, sneakers, a watch &  pinky-ring...he sported a diamond stud in his ear.

He was a terrible driver...wrote illegibly, and broke/lost more cellphones than it's possible to count.

He was a consummate storyteller and could use half a dozen different accents, and make you laugh until it hurt.

Surprisingly, at times, he 
was an attentive listener.

He was proud of his hair, for good reason. It was his trademark.

Gaeta was quick to anger, quick to laugh, and quick to run to the rescue.

He could make his Mother her morning cup of tea, then go leg-press a jaw-dropping amount of weight.

He adored his Mother...
Loved his precious Auntie May and sweet
Cousin Nanny...
He cherished the memory of his dear Grandfather "Bobo."
and credited his Grandmother with making him tough.

His favorite memory of his Parents, was seeing them dance to "Harlem Nocturne."

He always expressed  compliments & gratitude for a home-cooked meal.

At the top of his list of  movie-favorites were, "The Quiet Man" and the animated "Cinderella."

He knew the lyrics and  could sing, "Bibbidi- Bobbidi-Boo!"

He could listen to "The Impossible Dream" on a loop for hours.

He loved books.

He loved the Ocean.

Keep your eyes on the horizon, Gaeta...
It's just over the next

One of my favorite memories I have of my Uncle Eddie is from when I was a kid and he gave me a pair of sunglasses. Not even on a gift-giving occasion! I remember thinking he was so cool. But that was him! He was always the cool uncle, the fun uncle, and the person you wanted to be around. He would make you laugh and he would make a room feel warm. Regardless of how tough he seemed on the outside, you could see how big his heart was on the inside. He was a great man and I am sad to see him go, but I am also warmed by the thought of him being reunited with his mother who I know he missed dearly. 

Hey Cuz,

The wonderful memories I have of you could fill a book. Way to many to write here. You were my first idol as a kid, someone who seemed so strong and smart and capable and confident and cool.  
You lived life on your own terms in your own unique way and brought untold laughter and joy to every family gathering.

Your sense of mischief and adventure were really small lessons in how to live life.  Life rarely goes as planned, and as I encounter challenges and setbacks in life, I am inspired by the way you handled yours.  With grace, and acceptance. I don't ever recall you complaining about anything...and I am reflecting on this even as I write it.

I have endless memories of funny jokes, pranks, car rides in the coolest cars:  Rolls, Jag, Porche,  Lamborghini. The first Limo Bus.  Rental houses; on Campobello, North Conway, Hyannis where family was everything.  

Luanne has mentioned many memories that I also have - and each one brings a smile.

I remember swapping out diet soda for real soda to see if you really had hypoglycemia - watching you down the whole bottle, 

I remember my first visits to the back of restaurant kitchens getting free plate of anything, because you always knew " a guy"

I remember you taking me to the Gym, a ratty YMCA, and watching guys half your age, twice mine,  sort of part ways as you made your way through, in awe of how much you could lift.

I remember flying to Nantucket and watching you accidentally break off a piece of the tail as you were leaning on the plane, then taking the plane up alone,  to see if it was flyable (!!)

I remember going scuba diving with you and watching you sink like a stone because your weight belt was mismatched, set for 2x as much weight as the tank you had. 

I remember cruising in a convertible listening to "put the lime in the coconut"

I remember watching you as a coach/buddy at the special olympics - you had a heart of gold.

I will miss you cuz, but hopefully you are with Auntie.

Dear EG,

You will always live in my heart and memories. You have always been among my most ardent supporters. Your unconditional and truly unconventional love for me, for literally my entire life,  has always kept my heart full.  My memories go back to my childhood. You were the source of so much laughter, so many adventures, so much pride in my accomplishments and yes, a fair amount of heartache. I will always remember you buttering butter crunch donuts, piece by piece at Gram’s kitchen table, coming to “rescue” us with Gramma from the “brutality” of a  Lakeside vacation in Sunapee because Gramma told you we were hungry. I remember riding in the car with the music blasting, flying in an airplane with you as the pilot and reading streets signs to figure out where we were going. I remember being snowed in on Martha’s Vineyard, the long nights on a weekend in  Campobello and long walks in Hyannisport. I remember all your jokes filled with crazily accents and wild facial expressions.  I remember how much delight you took in my bringing home my Christina and how much you loved her. I remember the great love you had for our grandmother, your mother and my mother. You were an amazing and complicated grandson, son and nephew. Your love for them was fierce.  Our holidays will never be the same without you. You were larger than life in so many ways. I pray that you rest easy dear cousin. I love you.
