

Born in Lynn, Ethel was the daughter of the late Matthew M. and Ethel G. (Hebert) Cotter. She attended Lynn Schools, was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1941 and was a lifelong resident of Lynn.
Prior to her retirement, in 1986, she spent 11 years as an assembler for E.G.G. Wakefield Engineering. In earlier years, she was involved with the Cub Scouts and Brownies and had worked at General Electric in Lynn and the former J.M. Fields in Swampscott.
She leaves her children, Eleanor B. Little of Raynham, Ralph F. Nelson, Jr., of Lynn, Lynne M. Tripp of Tewksbury, Cynthia A. Doucette and Jay H. Nelson both of Lynn. She took great joy in visiting with and following the exploits of her seven grandchildren: Susan Scripter, Laurence Little, Lia Benoit, Ryan Niles, Shawn Baker, Christopher Doucette and Jonathan Nelson and, doing the same with her 12 great-grandchildren: Matthew and Ryan Scripter, Ayla and Alyssa Benoit, Mason and Maya Jean Niles, Meghan Baker, Mollie Grace Little, and Aiden, Layla, Ayana and Landon Nelson. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Ethel was the mother of the late Thomas A. Nelson and sister to the late Matthew Cotter, Lucille A. “Sue” Brennan, Eileen M. Murphy, Phyllis B. French and Genevieve Cotter.
Ethel’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple Street Lynn on Saturday at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting Hours Friday 4-7PM. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements under the direction of Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, Lynn, MA.
