Evelyn D. Anderson

Mrs. Evelyn D. Anderson, age 93 years, of Peabody, formerly of Saugus, died Saturday Dec.1, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Chester R. Anderson with whom she shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Erik and Julia (Johnson) Johanson. She attended schools in Dorchester, and graduated from Dorchester High School, She also graduated from a Business School in Boston. Evelyn moved to Saugus as a young woman and resided in Saugus until moving to Brooksby Village in Peabody five years ago. She was employed as a bookkeeper at the Chateau De Ville for many years until she retired in 1985. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild, a member of VASA, Order of America, and the Heart Ladies at Brooksby Village. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting quilting and baking. Evelyn is survived by one son David E. and his wife Sharon M. Anderson of Ipswich, one granddaughter Jenny E. Anderson of Denver, CO, several nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also mother of the late Philip R. Anderson. Services Details: Evelyn's visiting hours will held at the First Lutheran Church 280 Broadway Lynn on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:30 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:30 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
