Everett William Erwin Sr., of Lynn, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He was the oldest son of the late William and Hazel (Mixer) Erwin; Everett was the anchor of the Erwin Family. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Carolyn R. (Page) Erwin, and his younger brother, William Erwin. He is survived by his sons, Everett (Kelly) Erwin Jr. of Waltham and Dan (Michelle) Erwin of Lynn, his devoted grandchildren Cameron, Candace, and Emma, his niece Carrie Erwin, nephew Brian (Katherine) Erwin, and sister-in-law Sue Erwin.
Everett and Carolyn met in dance classes in high school and fell instantly in love. After high school, Everett went on to Bryant and Stratton Business School, followed by serving as an Allotment Specialist, Finance Corps, in the United States Army during Vietnam. After his time in the military, Everett spent his entire working career at State Street Bank for 43 years in the service of internal auditing as a bank examiner. He was devoted to his church and spent decades at the Bethany United Church of Christ as Financial Secretary and in a variety of other roles. He could be found at church events in the kitchen. In addition, he supported his children as a Lynn Senior Band booster for years even after they graduated, and he and Carolyn supported their children and grandchildren by attending every single band or sporting event they could, they were always present. In addition, Everett was a proud member of the Masons, and enjoyed that brotherhood very much. Some of his favorite travel destinations included Washington DC, Steamtown PA, Edaville Railroad, and anywhere he went with his auditing team across the globe.
Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street. Lynn. His Funeral Service will be held the follow morning, Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11:00 in the Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
