
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Susan (Oldfield) Donovan. She attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1932. She later attended and graduated from Salem State University Class of 1936.
Prior to her retirement, she was a school teacher in the Lynn Public Schools for over 28 years at the Lincoln-Thompson School.
She was a life member of the former Broadway United Methodist Church now known as Grace United Methodist Church and was a member of the Grace United Woman’s Group. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening and crosswords and in later years, enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.
She leaves her children, David Frier and his wife Marie of Ipswich, Gordon Frier and his wife Joan of Boxford, and Janice Sanecchiaro and her husband Richard of East Wakefield, NH. She was the Grandmother to Christopher, Meghan, Amanda and Jill and the Great-Grandmother to Charlie, Katherine, Aubrey and Colby. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Her Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Tuesday at 10:00AM. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8PM. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the North Shore Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St. Danvers, MA 01923.
