

Mr. Gerald D. Tattersall, age 69 years, of Verona St. Lynn, died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 28 at Union Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Margaret (Martin)Tattersall, with whom he shared 34 years of Marriage. Born in Chicago Heights, IL, he was the son of the late George and Jannette (Schoeder) Tattersall. He graduated from Bloom High School in Glenwood, IL, Class of 1957. Gerry entered the United States Navy following high school for three years, became a civilian for one year, and then returned to the USN, Seabees, retiring as a Builder 1st Class in 1984 after 23 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion #127 Middleton, Fleet Reserve #120 in Oxnard, CA, and a life member of the VFW #1240 in Swampscott. Gerry was an avid fan of the Indy 500, and went to the race every year since 1968. He was also a fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics. In addition to his wife he is survived by two brothers Michael Tattersall, Sr. of Redland, CA, Dr. Raymond and his wife Cathy Tattersall of Paw Paw, MI, three nieces Melissa C. Dennison of Maui, HI, Tiffany Tattersall of Paw Paw, MI, Laurie E. Spurr of Tuftonboro, NH, three nephews Capt. Brandon Tattersall, USMC and his wife Simone of Eng., Michael Tattersall, Jr. of San Bernardino, CA, and Walter "Will" Smith, USN AT1. Service Details: Gerry's visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Saturday from 11:00 - 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Cremation will follow at Harmony Grove Cemetery. His ashes will be interred in Bourne National Cemetery in the spring.
