

Mr. Gunnar E. “Peter” Olson of Lynn died Thursday morning in the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joan A. (Trainor) Olson, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, Peter was the son of the late Gunnar B. and Elinor (Fitch) Olson. He attended Lynn Schools, was a graduate of the Lynn Trade School and resided in Lynn for most of his life. He was the former owner of the Dockside Lounge on the Lynnway.
Prior to his retirement in 1991, he worked as a machine repairman for the General Electric. He previously worked at the former Thai Hong Restaurant and Gannon Golf Course.
Pete was a United States Army veteran.
He was a member of the Franco-American Amvets Post # 161 in Lynn. In his earlier years, he enjoyed basketball and more recently enjoyed golf.
In addition to his wife, Peter leaves his children, David Olson and his wife Glynis of Bedford, Peter Olson and his wife Caryn of Lynn, Mark Olson and his wife Anne of Charlotte, NC and Diane Crighton and her husband Kevin of Lynn. He was the Grandfather of Kristofor, Peter, Emily, Andrew, Gunnar and Erik Olson, Brendan, Kevin and Kathleen Crighton, Laura and Brendan Bennett. He was also the Great grandfather of Boston Bennett. One brother David Olsson and one sister Kristina Bhrum both of Lynn. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn, Monday, Nov. 29 at 9:00 AM. Funeral Services will be in Grace United Methodist Church, Broadway, Lynn at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Nov. 28 from 2-6 PM. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.
