Mrs. H. Jean (Capozzi) Jones, 81, formerly of Lynn and North Conway, NH, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her husband, William “Bill” Jones with whom she shared 46 years of marriage and her daughter; Nancy.
Born September 5, 1931 in Lynn, Jean was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Kiley) Capozzi.
Jean lived most of her life in Lynn and took great pride being active in the community. She served on the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army, supported not only the Lynn Lions Club but Lions International as a whole, participating in annual Youth Week Activities and worked on any local political campaigns. After moving to North Conway full time, she embraced her “up country” community and dedicated much of her time volunteering at the Children’s Store at Our Lady of the Mountains Church of North Conway, of which she was a loyal parishioner.
Jean’s greatest joys were simply spending time with her family. She gave selflessly of herself, her time and her love and touched so many lives with her amazing spirit and warm smile. She is loved by many and will be sorely and greatly missed.
Besides her husband, William “Bill” Jones, she is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jones, step-children; Patrick Rosenheim and his wife Arlene, Annemarie Taylor and her husband Gene, Pamela Boudreau and her husband Matt, Karen Rosenheim and David Rosenheim and his wife Belinda. She held a special place in her heart for her nieces, Janice Kurowski and Debra Healey, nephews Fred LeBlanc and brother-in-law Alfred LeBlanc. She was a proud grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 1. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy LeBlanc and Anne Capozzi, step-son Michael Rosenheim and “almost daughter” Paula Morgan. She cherished her close friends both in MA and NH.
Jean’s Funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Monday at 9:30AM followed by her Funeral Mass to celebrate her life in St. Pius V Church at 10:30AM. Interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hours on Sunday from 2-6PM.
