Harold William Clem

Harold William Clem, age 66, of St. Augustine, FL, formerly from Lynn, MA, died Friday, September 11, 2026. Harold was the son of the late Harold W. Clem, of Charles Town, WV, and the late Doris L. Clem, of Lynn, MA. He was the husband of Cheryl Clem with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

Harold attended the Lynn Public Schools and started his career as an autobody technician. He was a man of extraordinary willpower, sheer determination, and an unstoppable work ethic. He spent most of his career at Shold’s Autobody, Salem, MA, where he was fondly referred to as Mud Man Harry. Harold also managed Mike’s Gym in Lynn, where he became passionate about bodybuilding and proudly competed in wheelchair bodybuilding championships, an accomplishment that earned him recognition and features in several bodybuilding magazines.

Harold was truly one of a kind. He lifted everyone around him and inspired confidence. He pushed you to be the best version of yourself. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle or friend, Harold was always the person you could count on to figure anything out or just be there for support. His smile, hug, presence, or phone call, provided the needed calmness and belief that everything would be ok. Harold always knew what to do. There was no quit in him and he would not accept it from others. Simply put, Harold was the best of us.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his siblings, John Clem, Phyllis Clem, Roy Clem and his wife Emma. He was predeceased by his brother William “Billy” Clem, and sister Bunnie (Clem) Andrade. He also leaves his beloved daughter Kristy Lee Brown and her husband Thomas, along with his two cherished grandchildren Amelia and Liam Brown. Harold was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. His family was very important to him. He was always available to help his family and friends.

A visitation will be held in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 11 AM-1 PM with a service to follow at 1 PM. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn.
