Holly A. Dooley

Holly A. (Courtney) Dooley, age 74, of Lynn, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026. She was a beloved wife of the late Raymond J. Dooley, Jr., with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Richard Courtney and Marie Norma Courtney (Campbell). She was the sister of Mary Weeks of NH, Julie Sylvain of NH, Richard Courtney, Jr. of Lynn, and Bill Courtney of Amesbury, Mass.

Holly was the devoted mother to Julianne "Becky" Sanchez of Lynn, Ian Dooley of Lynn, Abbye Parks of WI and her husband, Jason Parks, and the late Samantha Dooley of Lynn. The loving grandmother of Kelsey Sanchez of OH, Kyleigh Sanchez of Lynn, and Brayden Gallante of Chelmsford, Emalie Parks, Courtney Parks, and Sarah Parks, all of WI, and Autumn Domey of Lynn.

Holly was a lifelong resident of Lynn. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School. She furthered her education, earning her Bachelor's Degree at Boston University in Early Childhood Education. She also completed her Master's Degree at Salem State College.

She was proud to be a teacher for over 30 years at several elementary schools in Lynn, where she finished out her career at Hood Elementary School. There are several of her students who still remember her and have noted that she was still their favorite teacher. Holly faced many obstacles in life with fierce determination and grace. She was a mentor and inspiration to all who knew her. The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love and wisdom Holly left behind, not only in the hearts of her students, but everyone who crossed her path.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 3rd at the Hawthorne Hotel, 18 Washington Sq. W., Salem, MA 01970, from 4 to 6 pm. A buffet dinner will be served.
