James Francis Weston, a life-long resident of Lynn, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the NSMC – Union Hospital at the age of 60. Born on March 14, 1958, he was the beloved son of the late Elizabeth Landry. James was raised and educated in Lynn. He worked for many years as Maintenance Director at St. Mary’s Church in Lynn before moving to St. Mary’s Church in Beverly where he retired from in 2012. James was a kind-hearted person and had such a great love for animals. He was a big Boston’s sports fan, always cheering on the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox, and was a Pop Warner football coach for East Lynn throughout the 1980’s. James even dabbled in a little online poker in his spare time. Through all his life’s endeavors, nothing compared to love and dedication he had for his family.
James leaves his wife of 42 years, Kathleen (Nestor) Weston of Lynn, his son, James Weston and his wife, Leighann of Lynn, his granddaughter, Hailey Weston of Danvers, and his soon-to-be twin grandsons, Jesse James and Bryson James Weston. James also leaves his beloved Olde English Bulldog, Sasha, his Tiger Cat, T.J., and his cherished cat, Maisy Duke. James was preceded in death by his siblings: Richard and Joseph Weston.
A Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 6:30pm. Visiting Hours will be held just prior to the service from 4 to 6:30pm. All other services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions in James’ memory may be made to: Mass General / North Shore, 102 Endicott St. Danvers, MA 01923.
