LYNN—James R. McCullough, age 85, passed away at the Abbott House in Lynn on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia McCullough, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, MA on June 10, 1935, he was a son of the late Gene and Caroline (Richards) McCullough. James was a graduate of Peabody High School. He then went on to proudly serve in the United States Marines. Following his service, James was a postal clerk for over 38 years until his retirement.
In his free time, James enjoyed playing cards (beating everyone in cribbage), camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was a beloved Papa and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His sense of humor and sarcasm will be missed.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, Cindy McCullough, Corey McCullough, Pamela McCullough, James R. McCullough Jr., Sheila Keith, Sheryl Belville and her husband John, Kelly Bertwell and her husband Barry, and Kevin McCullough and his wife Sheri, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. James was predeceased by his children Daniel McCullough and Kathy McCullough.
Arrangements: Friends and family are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Tuesday, March 30th from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
