Jean C. Bartlett

Born May 17, 1931, in Swampscott, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Angelina (Scotina) DeVecchis of Lynn, with her siblings the late Joseph DeVecchis, Rose Carey, and Ann Raper. She was a lifelong resident of Lynn, where she raised her children Arthur Lemaire, Roger Lemaire husband of Anna Lemaire, John Lemaire husband of Susan Lemaire, Rose Emerson, Jean Atkinson wife of Ronald Atkinson (deceased) and of Frank McManus (deceased). She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Eric Lemaire husband of Lisa Lemaire, the late Anthony Lemaire, Gina Benitez wife of Juan Benitez, Melissa Milligan wife of the late Jason Milligan, the late Lisa Lemaire, Angela Wong wife of Scott Wong, John Lemaire, and Charlene Berridge wife of Matthew Berridge, as well as eighteen great-grandchildren, Eric Lemaire, Taylor Lemaire, Kaylee Lemaire, Antanya Lemaire, Dominic Lemaire fiancé of Alexia Rivera, Jason Hitchcock, Mia Hitchcock, Jacob Milligan, Madison Milligan, Jeremy Milligan, Desani Martinez, Jazmin Martinez, Scott Wong Jr., Meadow Wong, Jaxon Lemaire, Mason Lemaire, Camryn Berridge, and Holly Berridge. She was also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them.

She was strong-willed and stubborn at times but had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, and brave. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve. She also loved visits to casinos with many of her family members. She always looked forward to a good fried clam plate with someone she loved. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and was full of love for those who went before her. She will be missed dearly.

Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 2:00pm - 6:00 pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her Funeral Mass will be held the following morning at 10:00 am in the Holy Family Church, 26 Bessom Street, Lynn. Please meet directly at the church. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
