She was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Caruso) Orio, and was predeceased by her sisters: Antoinette Martha, Carmela, Mary Ann and her brothers Anthony, Peter and John.
Jean loved British mysteries and gin rummy, and kept her family entertained with stories of her childhood in Revere, including the rides at Revere Beach. She also considered herself to be the family food critic, and always felt that she wasn‘t fully dressed, if she didn’t wear her signature red lipstick. Jean used to work as a home aide in Chelsea, and was a foster mother for many years.
She was the beloved mother of David Cowhig and his wife Patricia of NH, and John Cowhig and his wife Renate Brigitte of Chelsea. Jean was the grandmother of Shane Cowhig and his daughters Sharmaigne and Jordan (great granddaughters), Serina Cowhig and Joshua Cowhig and his wife Nithya and their daughter Janani (great granddaughter).
