

Mrs. Jennie C. (Bettinger) Lynch, age 92, of Wilmington and formerly of Lynn, died on Monday, October 3, 2011 in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Lynn Firefighter William Lynch.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Jennie C. (Smith) Bettinger. She graduated from Lynn English High School Class of 1936, and lived in Lynn for most of her life.
For 15 years she was the supervisor of packaging at the G. E. River Works Plant. Jennie enjoyed shopping, going to Las Vegas, taking cruises, and attending family gatherings. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves two daughters Christine E. O’Donnell and her husband James H. of Wilmington and Charlene A. O’Connor and her husband Kevin J. of the Villages, FL; a brother Ralph E. Bettinger, Jr. of Lynn, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a few nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
Jennie’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Friday at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours Thursday 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472 or the charity of one’s choice.
