Johanne Rose James

Johanne grew up in Lynn. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth Petterson. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School then completed her LPN at Essex Agricultural School. She and Gordon raised their family in Lynn then retired in Grafton, NH. Together they enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening, listening to music, and watching Country Western programs.

Johanne was the devoted mother of David James and his wife Nancy, Gary James and his wife Joanne, Dianne James, Greg James and Peter James. She was the cherished grandmother of Jared James, Jill Monteforte, Jason James, Shanel Anderson, Shyra Broughton, Peter Anderson, Dylan Gates, Scott Barry, Evelyn L’Italien and Ean James as well as her 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Johanne is predeceased by her loving grandson Joey James, and her siblings Sherman Petterson, Herman “Sonny” Petterson, and Dianne Walker.

Visitation will be held for Johanne and Gordon on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Cuffe-McGinn. Burial will follow Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
