John D. Allen, 90, of Lynn, MA, a retired machinist, passed Away on Wednesday Oct. 1, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Whitman, MA, and was raised and lived his entire life in Lynn.
He worked for Fairview Machine in Topsfield for most of his career, and in semi-retirement he worked for Hall Company in Lynn as a handyman. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a loyal member of the Ascendus Masonic Lodge for over 60 years as well as an Assistant Chief Steward of the Aleppo Shrine. His joy was found in his wife of 69 years, Sylvia (Peckham) Allen, His children, Julie and her husband Alan Spreadbury, Andrew and his wife Ellen Allen, and Cynthia Essler and her companion Marc Alloway. His joy was expanded by his seven grandchildren, their spouses and partners and his three great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 10am-12noon, followed by a Masonic Funeral Service at noon. A graveside service will immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn.
