

LYNN - John H. Holleran, Sr., 77, of Wells, ME, formerly of Lynn, passed away after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Born in Jamaica Plain on February 25, 1938, John was the son of Dr. John H. and Muriel (DeSousa) Holleran. He was raised in Wakefield, graduated from St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, and held a BA in History from Norwich University, Vermont. He was a regional manager for Caldor Department Stores for many years until his retirement. John was the beloved husband of Patricia (Healey) of Wells, ME; the loving father of sons, John H. Holleran, Jr. of Revere, and James M. Holleran, Sr. and his wife, Amelia of Saugus and daughters, Sherri Freeman of Lunenburg and Jill Holleran of Pittsfield; the proud Pops of newborn, James M. Holleran, Jr.; the dear brother of Muriel A. and Gerald Holleran, both of Wakefield, and Edward Holleran of Michigan; the cherished son-in-law of Mildred Healey of Lynnfield; and the uncle of several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special dachshund, Henry. John’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove St., Lynnfield. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody, MA. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, July 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
