Mr. John Naimo, age 74, of Lynn, died Wednesday evening in Union Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne M. (Vose) Naimo and his longtime companion, Lynne Peach.
Born in Lynn, John was the son of the late Samuel and Frances (Cordova) Naimo. He attended Lynn Schools, was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1953 and resided in Lynn his entire life.
Prior to his retirement, he spent over 45 years as a Manager for the Durkee-Mower Company, more commonly known as “The Marshmellow Fluff” Company. He was a well known softball player and avid golfer. He also enjoyed bowling in many leagues and for a time, he ran the East Lynn Alleys. He was also a longtime East Lynn Little League Manager.
In addition to his wife and companion, he leaves his children, David A. Naimo and his wife Charlene of Burlington, Thomas S. Naimo of Lynn and Laurie Cash and her husband Larry of Danvers. He was the father-in-law of Anita Naimo of Saugus. He was the brother of Frank Naimo and his wife Jean of Billerica. John is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Thomas J., Amanda, Alysia, Maria, Abigail, and Brandon; 1 great granddaughter, Isabella, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late John Michael and Mark F. Naimo.
John’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Monday at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Saint Joseph’s Cemetery.
