

Corrado, Joseph L., a long-time resident of Lynn, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 in the Chestnut Woods Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Saugus, he was 88. Born in Swampscott on March 2, 1927, he was the son of the late John and Emilia (Delisio). Joe was raised and educated in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. On June 8, 1945, Joe entered into the US Army to help fight for our country during World War II. He served proudly and was honorably discharged on November 20, 1947. Joe was employed for many years as Heating Instructor with I.T.T in Boston. During the Christmas season, Joe also worked for the East Boston Post Office and then later on in the Lynn Post Office. He was a life-member of the D.A.V. , Chapter 64. Joe also loved trips to Foxwoods as well as his hunting trips to Maine for deer. He also enjoyed the simple things in life, such as country music and meals with his close friends. Joe is survived by his brother, John Corrado of Portsmouth, NH, his sister, Helen Scoppettuolo of Revere, many nieces and nephews, and his life-long friend, Dario Maganelli of Ea. Boston. Joe also leaves his very special close family friends of over 25 years, Linda and her husband, Barry Gjeta and their children, Sindi and Daniel Gjeta, all of Lynn. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Pitiorino and Ruth Dickerson. A funeral service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. LYNN on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11 AM. Interment services will be held privately. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM.
