

Born in Lynn and a lifelong resident of the City, she was the daughter of Rita M. (Williamson) Marler of Lynn, and of the late Fred W. Marler. She graduated from St. Mary’s Girls High School, Class of 1962. In 1995 she received an Associate’s Degree in Sociology from North Shore Community College and an L.P.N. the same year. She worked with mental and physically challenged adults.
Judy served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years, receiving an honorable discharge.
She then worked as a TSA security officer at Logan Airport and retired in 2012. She also served as Recording Secretary for AFGE Union Local 2617 until 2013.
She was a member and past Queen of the Saugus Chapter of the Red Hat Society, and a member of the Scarlett Sisters. Judy was a former Eucharistic Minister while in the Navy and at St. Mary’s Church, Lynn.
In addition to her mother, she leaves a brother William T. Marler of Lynn, and a sister Patricia Simmons and her husband Dan of Vermont. She was the aunt of Shawn Marler and his wife Lynn and Christine Marler both of Lynn, Erin Simmons and Ethan Simmons both of Vermont, and the great-aunt of Victoria “Tori” Marler of Lynn. She was also the former sister-in-law of Janice E. Marler.
No words can ever express the graditude and appreciation shown by the All Care VNA and Hospice personnel, especially Nurses Levi, Mary, both Cathys and home aides Martina and Brunice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 10 AM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial Visitation on Thursday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the All Care Hospice, 210 Market Street, Lynn, MA 01902.
