June Marie Liffin, age 98 of Lynn, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian (O’Connell) Liffin, was a life-long Lynn resident, and a communicant of St. Pius V Church.
June graduated from Lynn English High School in 1944. During her early working years she held several local secretarial positions, then became employed by the Department of Mental Health in Boston where she retired after 25 years of service. She was also a member of the United States Naval Reserves, Security Ground Division in Salem, MA from 1960 to 1964.
She leaves behind her sister, Claire Kalloger, her niece, Diane Kalloger who was June's Goddaughter and caregiver and Diane’s son, James. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, James D. Kalloger, who was Claire’s husband.
June was also predeceased by her brother Richard Liffin, her late sister-in-law Nancy Liffin, and their son, Michael, and leaves their other children, Kathy, Susan, Paula, and Joanne, their spouses, children and grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by her sister, Patricia Mullin, her late brother-in-law James Mullin, and leaves their children Sharon, Paul, Patty and Maureen, their spouses, children, and grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by her nephew, James L. Kalloger and leaves his wife, Cathy Kalloger, their children, Dusty, Chris, Joshua and Sean, their spouses and children.
She also leaves her nephew, Daniel Kalloger, his wife, Linda, their daughter Lisa, her spouse and their children.
June was very family oriented, enjoyed visits with her relatives and was well-loved by all. She also had several close friends including Kay, Alice and Marianne, with whom she enjoyed traveling, shopping, and going to the beach. She was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians for many years and often shared lively stories about her Irish heritage.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
