Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Gorman) Murphy. During her life she lived in Nahant, Lynn and Plymouth.
She worked as an insurance agent for many years at the Barry & O’Connor Insurance Agency of Lynn. She was an active member of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women.
Greta enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends in Plymouth.
The sister of the late John Murphy, William Maloney and Irene Luther, she leaves many nieces and nephews including Karen Luther of Lowell and William Luther of Lynn.
A Visitation will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Thursday at 11:30AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 12:30PM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
