He worked as a stock worker and machinist at GE in Lynn for 25 years before his retirement. He was also a friend of Bill W.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deborah T. (Downey) Freethy of Lynn, sisters, Donna Freethy and Deborah L. Freethy, both of Wakefield, Brothers-in-law, Kevin Downey and his wife, Pam of Danvers, and Mark Downey and his wife, Denise of Alexandria, NH, his nephew, Kevin Downey, his 2 nieces, Rachel and Ashley Downey, and Larry and Debbie's traveling companion, Sheila McKeering of Peabody.
A Memorial Visitation will be held in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home in Lynn on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 1-3 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 PM.
