She was the beloved daughter to Glenn Christy and Ellen (O’Connell) Christy born at Salem Hospital on February 16, 1996. She was deeply cherished by her stepmother Melissa Christy since age 12. Her spirited presence and infectious laugh will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, Lauren (affectionately also known as Lulu Jean) leaves behind her two stepsisters Amanda and Victoria Swaney, her loving aunts & uncles, Karen O’Connell of Nahant, John M. O’Connell of Lynn, and the late Thomas J. O’Connell of Lynn, Paula Christy & David Savastano of Londonderry NH, Kathy & David Christy of Barre VT, Maryann & Marty Bradford, Michael & Debra Gasbarro of Leominster MA and Mark & Marie-Eve Gasbarro of Boston MA. She was an adored granddaughter of the late John J. and Jean (Collins) O’Connell, the late Viola (Coombs) & Leon Christy of Lynn MA and Netta (Dondero) & Francis Gasbarro of Bonita Springs FL, and many cousins and lifelong friends.
Lauren grew up in Lynn and Nahant, attending St. Pius in her elementary school years, advancing to Swampscott Middle School and Swampscott High School, and then graduating from Lynn Public High School in 2015. Lauren attended and enrolled in the welding program at McCann School of Business & Technology in Hazleton, PA in 2017.
After completing her education, Lauren used her technical talents as an auto-detailer in West Palm Beach, FL and then moved onto a career as a Final Assembler for Analogic in Peabody MA where she made many new friends.
From a young age, Lauren expressed herself with art. In her free time, Lauren loved to draw and was a very talented artist. She was creative and worked well with all forms of material, including watercolor pencils, paint, metal, and paper. She could also power wash a deck or a boat with finesse, and always, always with a big smile. She loved motorcycles and was entertaining the thought of getting her motorcycle license this summer. Lauren was an avid skier turned graceful snowboarder and had many exciting years mastering the rails and jumps at Loon Mountain. Lauren would be the first on, and last off the lift. Her love of music and animals was abundant, and her generous and soulful nature was felt by all. Lauren was attentive to the needs of others even above her own.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Lauren’s life on Saturday June 11, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Lauren to a non-profit foundation bearing her name and rooted in the belief in the cycle of life. A GoFundMe campaign has been established. All donations will be held and transferred to the foundation once legally established in 1-2 weeks. The mission of Lauren’s foundation is to embrace the symbol of growth and life and will provide a memorial plaque and a tree to be planted by the grantee and in memory of a loved one. https://www.gofundme.com/f/a-nonprofit-foundation-setup-in-laurens-name?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1
