

Laurent A. “Larry” Berube, 81, of Topsfield, formerly of Lynn, passed away on December 10, 2015. Born in Lynn on January 17, 1934, he was the son of the late William R. and Esther L. (Healey) Berube. Larry graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Lynn in 1952. He became a seminarian at Christ the King Seminary - St. Bonaventure University in New York for a time. Larry served in the U.S. Airforce from 1954 to 1957 as an Airman during the Korean Conflict. After that Larry began his career at the U.S. Post Office where he worked in the Boston region for over 45 years until his retirement just last year. Larry was an active communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Lynnfield and prior to that at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody. He was a Eucharistic Minister at Union Hospital in Lynn, and the Carmelite Chapel in Peabody. He was a member of the Third Order of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Knights of Columbus, Lynnfield Council, and American Postal Workers’ Union. Larry was a special friend for several years of Ghyslaine M. Richard of Peabody. He is also survived by his sister, Bernadette T. (Berube) McHugh of Marblehead, niece Jacqueline McHugh of Salem and nephew Bill McHugh, his wife Amy and their son, Jack of Marblehead. Larry’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16th, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove St., Lynnfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.
