
Leonard was born and educated in Lynn, the son of the late Frederick J. and Laura (Kerivan) Perry. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School class of 1933. He lived most of his life in Lynn.
Leonard was the owner and operator of the well known Perry Florist of Lynn for over 40 years.
A WWII veteran of the United States Army, he was honorably discharged from the 35th Infantry training battalion. Leonard was one of the founding commanders and three time past commander of Shoemaker Post 345 A.L. and has been a 67 year member. An avid bowler, of both ten pin and candle pin, he was three time city league champion. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed New England Sports.
Leonard leaves his sons Leonard F. Perry and his wife Marguerite of Georgetown, Frederick Perry and his wife Vivian of CA, and Bruce Perry and his wife Judith of Lynn, his daughters Elaine Jordan of FL, Judith Doughty and her husband William of Lynn, and Dottie John of Danville, NH. Leonard’s 2 sisters Evelyn Wescott of CA, Irene Lauzon of Tewksbury. He was the grandfather of 15, great grandfather of 25, and great great grandfather of 3, uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Leonard was the brother of the late Marion Pigott, Muriel Grasso and grandfather of the late Joseph Perry, Jerry LeClair, Debra Albert, William, Jeffery, and Julie Doughty.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple ST. Lynn on Wednesday at 9:30 with a mass to follow in St.Pius V Church at 10:30. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery Lynn.
