Lily D. Smith

Mrs. Lily D. Smith, age 86 years, of Peabody, died Wednesday, at the Lafayette Nursing home in Marblehead after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Smith, Jr., with whom she shared 28 years of Marriage Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Elnar and Dorothea (Carlson) Wallstedt. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1940. She was employed as an Assembler at Signal Manufacturing for many years until she retired in1977. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by one son Bradley E. and his wife Linda Smith of Peabody, one sister Inez Kehoe of Merrimack, NH, two granddaughters Deborah Smith of Watertown, Michele Smith of Watertown, one great grandson Kavel Smith-Zamoni of Watertown, one great granddaughter Amaia Smith-Fehlner of Watertown and many nieces and nephews. Service Details: Mrs. Smith's visiting hour will be held at the First Lutheran Church 280 Broadway Lynn on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
