Linda Rose Margeson

Linda Rose Margeson of Saugus passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20th after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was comforted in her final days surrounded by family and friends at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Lynn on September 2, 1947, Linda was the daughter of the late former, Mayor of Chelsea, Philip and Mary (Trainor) Spelman. She was raised in Chelsea, Massachusetts and graduated from St. Rose School, also in Chelsea.

Linda is remembered for her kindness, strength, and sense of humor. She deeply valued time spent with her family and friends and was always happiest when surrounded by loved ones. Throughout her life, she cherished the friendships she formed growing up in Chelsea and remained close with many of those friends until the day she passed.

Linda had a natural gift for making people feel loved and welcome. She treated her children’s friends as if they were her own and taught everyone around her the importance of showing children love, respect, and attention. To her, children were always the most important people in the room and she made sure they felt that way.

She is survived by her son, Ronald A. Margeson Jr. and his wife, Janine Margeson of Anthem, Arizona; and her daughter, Elizabeth Margeson and her wife, Michelle Margeson of Sutton, Massachusetts. Linda was especially close with her granddaughters- Jamie Osgood and Julia Rose Osgood. She adored her great-grandson, Jariel.

She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Phillip Spelman of Stoneham, Massachusetts, and her sister, Mary Collins. Linda shared an exceptionally close bond with her niece, Kimberly Spelman, who was by her side offering comfort and love through her final moments. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her deeply and whom she cared for dearly.
