Margaret I Brown

Born in Lynn, Margaret was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Palmer) McDevitt. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School Class of 1936 and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Salem State Teacher’s College. Mrs. Brown was a teacher in the Lynn School District for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a Board Member on the Lynn Council on Aging and Greater Lynn Senior Services. She was also a member of Lynn Retirees Association, Lynn Teachers Union and she was Queen of the Red Rose Hatters in Full Bloom Society of Lynn.

Mrs. Brown was survived by her son Harold F. Brown, Jr. and his wife Donna of New Jersey, daughter Paula E. Dow and husband Robert of Lynn. Also survived by grandchildren, Andrea Brown, Kristin Brown and David Brown and his wife Kelly. Great-grandmother to Alec and Abbey Tieslau.

Mrs. Brown’s Funeral will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Monday at 10AM. Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
