

Marie Doris (Cormier) Lillydale, age 85, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2020. She was born in St. Joseph, New Brunswick, Canada on April 2, 1934 to her beloved parents Albert and Suzanne (Cormier) Cormier. Marie was the cherished wife of the late William R. “Bill” Lillydale who passed away in 1998.
Marie was the beloved mother of Susan Lillydale and her husband Joseph Foster, Nancy Lillydale and her partner Mark Robinson, and William H. Lillydale. She was the cherished sister of Leonard Cormier and predeceased by six of her siblings Adrian, Alva, Leo, Annette, Albertine, and Gerald. She was the dear aunt of Joan Barber, her son Jim Barber and several other nieces and nephews.
Marie was an active member of St. Pius V Church in Lynn, and served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister. Most of all in life she was a very devoted and proud mother; family was always important to her. She was known for her marvelous baking skills, from having the most coveted cake at the PTA bake sale, to making her crowd-favorite brownies this last Thanksgiving. Marie was known in the neighborhood for her kindness and being someone that you could count on.
Marie loved the beach, where she met her husband Bill. Later in life she found home in Fort Myers, Florida during the winter where she enjoyed being able to relax by the beach in the sun and catch some spring training games of her beloved Boston Red Sox. Marie made many close friends in Fort Myers who loved her and will miss her dearly.
The family will welcome guests Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Family and friends are invited to meet at the Funeral Home on Monday February 3, 2020 at 9:00, am followed by her funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
