Marion Smith Rourke

A life-long resident of Lynn, Marion was born September 16, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (Donovan) Smith. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Class of 1944. She was the former wife of the late Francis W. Rourke. Marion worked as a teacher’s aide at Washington Community School in Lynn for many years until her retirement.

Marion is survived by her children, Michael and his wife Cindy of Rochester, NH; Thomas and his wife Karen of Milton, MA, Patricia Sullivan of Elliot, ME, and Mary Hinde of Dover, NH. She was the Grandmother to Laurie, Erica and Michael Rourke of Rochester NH, Caroline, Rene and Kathleen Rourke of Lynnfield, MA, Ryan and Richard Sullivan of Elliot, ME, Jill Spring, Kelly Teatro and Shannon Hinde of Dover, NH. Marion was the Great Grandmother to Brian Rourke, Cody Teatro and Madison Hinde all of NH. She was the sister to Marjorie Cimmino of Burlington, MA and Frederick Smith of Bloomington, IN. Marion was also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Marion’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 8 South Common St., Lynn at 10:30AM. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to St. Mary’s High School, Office of Institutional Advancement, 35 Tremont Street, Lynn, MA 01902.
