Marjorie Compton

Marjorie (Stone) Compton, “Margie”, was born in Lynn on August 22, 1931. She grew up in Saugus then moved to Lynn, where she spent the greater portion of her life, and then back to Saugus again. She passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026.

Margie was the daughter of Albert and Annie Fisher and sister of Bill and Marion. She was the wife of Dick Stone and then, Don Compton. She was the beloved mother of Pam (Gallagher) Shurtleff and Neil Stone, and grandmother of Patrick and Katie Gallagher and Shyla, Kevin and Christopher Stone. She was the much-loved stepmother of Debbie Clifford, Donna Regan, Gene and Rick Compton and grandmother of Connor and Dylan Clifford, Josh Richard and Bobbie Dee Regan, Nicole Doherty and Christopher Compton and Todd Compton. She leaves many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins, most especially her dear cousin Sandy Draper. She was a great friend to all.

Margie was a wonderful, loving, and caring person. She may have been small in stature, but she had the biggest heart and strength beyond measure. She leaves a legacy of instilling that strength in others and always seeing the best in people. She’ll be a hard act to follow. She will be in our hearts, always and forever. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
