

PEABODY – Mark L. Sewell, Sr., 60, of Peabody, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Born in Lynn, Mark was the son of Louise (LaLiberte) Sewell of Lynn and the late Donald Sewell. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn (Walker) Sewell of Peabody with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Mark was the devoted father of Mark L. Sewell, Jr. and his wife, Tarra of Malden and Leanne Foye and her husband, David of Fitzwilliam, NH; and the dear brother of Donald Sewell, Jr. of Lynn, Daryl Sewell of Ipswich and Yvonne Sewell of Lynn. Mark is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
Mark graduated from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute with the Class of 1976 and worked as an auto body technician for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, canoeing and fishing around New England including in New Hampshire. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts, Troop 59 in West Peabody and was especially proud of helping his son, Mark, Jr. earn his Eagle Scout designation. He enjoyed spending time with his family including outings to Salem Willows. He also enjoyed traveling around New England to antique car shows and restoring cars including a ’52 DeSoto that he had at one time.
Mark’s funeral will be held on Friday, August 24th from the CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August, 23rd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
