Marlene Kruizenga

Mrs. Marlene (Frenette) Kruizenga, age 50, of Lynn, died Tuesday in Massachusetts General Hospital after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Leonard Kruizenga, with whom she shared 16 years of marriage.

Born in Boston, Marlene was the daughter of Gaetano Donatelli and his wife Linda of Sunapee, NH and the late Marie Gordon. She attended Lynn Schools, graduated from North Shore Community College with a degree in accounting and resided in Lynn for most of her life.

Marlene was very involved with her children’s activities. She was a catechist at St. Pius V Church and was a longtime Lunch Aide in the Lynn Public Schools. She also enjoyed painting and reading.

In addition to her husband and father, Marlene leaves her children: Murdock Smith III and his wife Cynthia of Manchester-By-The-Sea, Matthue Smith of Lynn, Krista Kruizenga of Lynn and Alexandria Kruizenga of Lynn. She was the sister of David Frenette and his wife Loida of Mexico, Gaetano Donatelli of WY, Darla Donatelli of UT, Mark Donatelli of UT, Billy Donatelli and his wife Nadine of NH, Maria Donatelli of KY, Lauren Donatelli of NY and the late Guy Donatelli. She was the Grandmother to Madilyn and Draco. She also leaves her mother in law, Ruth Kruizenga of No. Conway, NH and several nieces and nephews, including Gina Kicenski, Angelina Grover, David Frenette, Jr., Kelli Frenette, Joshua Frenette, Iria Munoz, Scarlette Munoz and Ryan Davis.

Marlene’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday at 12:00PM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 1:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Visiting Hours Thursday (TODAY) from 4-7PM.
