

She worked immediately following graduation at General Electric. After WWII she was a machinist at Boston Machine Works, in Lynn, for 50 yrs. After she retired (due to
boredom) she worked for a Lynn drugstore until the age or 83.She was a lifelong resident of Lynn until moving to Michigan 2 years ago to be with her nephew Bill Powell and his wife Carol. Martha was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, and enjoyed watching all the games on TV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Theresa, brothers Ray and Byron and her sister Romaine Powell.
She is survived by nephews and nieces: Bill Powell, Ted Powell, Ed Powell, Cynthia Austin Burke, Mike Burke and Theresa Burke Best, and many great & great great nephews and nieces.)
Service information: Martha’s memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the South Congregational Church 60 Prospect St. Peabody, followed by burial of ashes in Pine Grove Cemetery.
