We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mary Ellen Winston Blaisdell on February 10, 2026. We celebrate her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose love story began in childhood and lasted a remarkable 62 years. She married her childhood sweetheart in an elopement that many doubted would endure—but together they built a marriage that became the foundation and inspiration of our family.
For over 35 years, Mary worked as a loan officer at Brotherhood Credit Union in Lynn where her integrity, warmth, and steady guidance helped countless families achieve their dreams. Beyond her career, she loved traveling, especially cruising with her beloved husband and her best friend Rose. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casinos, tending to her garden, and losing herself in a good book.
A proud “hockey widow,” Mary faithfully supported her husband’s passion for the game. She remained a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox through every season and delighted in British television.
Mary is survived by her husband Richard Blaisdell of Lynn, her daughters Patricia Casale of Lynn, Janet Bernaiche along with her husband David of Manchester, NH, Jodi Figler along with her husband Sam of Newton, her grandchildren Daniel and Joseph Casale, Jake and Jordan Bernaiche, Sarah, Adam and Grady Figler. Mary also leaves behind her niece Mary McCarriston and nephew Michael Winston. She is pre-deceased by her brother William Winston and her sister Patricia Winston of Lynn as well as her son-in-law Daniel Casale of Lynn.
Mary leaves behind a legacy of commitment and devotion that will continue to guide and comfort us always. The family intends to honor her memory privately with a celebration of life
