Michael “Mike” Joseph Behen of Lynn, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6th, 2025 at the age of 66. He was the son of Marjorie (Reebenacker) and John F. Behen Sr. Mike was a proud lifelong resident of Lynn, where he was born, grew up and raised his three daughters, Tara, Jaime & Christina. He was a graduate of Lynn Vocational Technical High School, and after graduation, took on the role of Machinist at General Electric in Lynn for many years.
Michael spent his life living it to the fullest. In his earlier days, this meant riding his Harley, traveling in his beloved van, and spending time with family & friends. As he settled down, it meant quality time in the backyard with his daughters, playing handyman- even when things didn’t quite need fixing and hosting summer BBQs. In his later years, he loved nights spent dancing on the town, traveling and spending quality time with those he loved. He was always happiest when surrounded by others, as there was never a place he went where he didn’t run into an old friend or make a new one. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie Behen. He is survived by his three daughters, Tara (Behen) O’Meara and her husband Jonathan of Wilmington, Jaime Behen and her wife Kelly of Danvers and Christina (Behen) Lincoln and her husband Barron of San Diego, CA, as well as his three grandsons, Benjamin O’Meara, William O’Meara and Barron Lincoln III. Michael also leaves behind his mother, Marjorie (Reebenacker) Behen of Lynn, MA, his brother John F. Behen Jr. and his wife Ann-Marie of Danvers, MA, his sister Pamela (Behen) Reed of Virginia Beach, VA and Kathleen Doudna of Maine, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Michael is also preceded in death by his brother, Daniel “Danny” Behen, as well as Michael’s long-time companion, Debra Richard of Winthrop.
