Michael F. Cheever, lifelong Lynn resident, died Saturday after a brief illness at Lahey Clinic, Burlington. Michael was born on August 9, 1950 to the late James L. and Phyllis M. (Eldridge) Cheever. He graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1968. Cheever worked as a truck driver for thirty years and retired from Lynn Sand & Stone in Swampscott. He was a member of Teamsters Local 42. Cheever was an avid golf and tennis player, enjoyed watching sports and spending time with family. He is survived by his children Michael F. Cheever of Raymond, NH and Shannon M. Cheever-LeClair of Lynn, and four grandsons, James W. Cheever, Riley M. Cheever, Ryan M. LeClair and Jacob P. LeClair. He was the brother of the late James L. Cheever. Visiting hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends invited.
