

Muriel was born in Lynn, daughter of the late Frederick B. Cashman, Sr. and the late Alice B. (Hogan) Aasen. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School Class of 1943 and was a lifelong resident of the City.
She worked at John Hancock Insurance in Boston for 10 years retiring in 1986. Muriel previously worked at the former Captain Jacks Inn, the Abbott House and the General Electric Company during WW II.
She loved playing Bingo and was an avid bowler and member of the Lucky Strike Friday Night League. She received her driver’s license at the age of 52 years old. Muriel also enjoyed traveling and going to New York at Christmas time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her 6 children Patricia A. O’Neil, Joseph F. O’Neil, John F. O’Neil and his wife Annette, Janice M. Gray, Robin A. Painchaud and her husband Steven and Robert O. O’Neil all of Lynn. Her siblings Frederick Cashman, Jr. of Quincy, Edward Cashman of FL, Phyllis Fraser of Westerly, RI, William Cashman and his wife Anne of Dover, NH, Alice Boudreau and her husband Frederick of Lynn and Jackie Hoerner and her husband William of Arlington Washington. She was the loving grandmother to 14, great grandmother to 12, great great grandmother to 1. She is also survived by many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Robert Cashman and Claudette Rockey.
Muriel’s Funeral will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 3-7 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Charity of one’s choice. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery
